I am so bad at understanding how to do spells in Technocracy! Lol

  2. Decarcassor says:

I understand your pain Billy. The vintage world of darkness has deep flaws and I believe Mage was one of the worst offenders. The whole subjective reality thing and technology being magic… It just never worked for me.

That said I can’t wait to listen to the game ! Even if its a complete trainwreck ending in another “planescape argument” at least it will be entertaining because fandible. :p

  3. Spencinator says:

Technocracy? Ehhhh… Not a huge fan of them, though I know I’m in the minority. I’d prefer to play a traditionalist mage game, otherwise why not just play an actual scif related book like Eclipse? It kind takes the fun out of it, in my opinion.

In any case, looking forward to more End of The World.

  4. Darkfire says:

Too bad you didn’t get to do The Strange this month. I was looking forward to seeing the Anime world. BTW you should get the Cypher System Book. It takes a good deal of the descriptors and focus elements and puts them in one book. It also has some alternate rules for Superhero settings in the Cypher System. The end of the World interests me but the Technocracy not so much. OWOD Mage had great lore but a horrible system of magic.

  5. Daniel says:

All I can say for all the Technocracy haters is… give the game a listen when it comes out. We, ah… took some Fandible ™-flavored liberties with it. If the final climactic battle scene doesn’t give you a happy while listening? Then surely we are all, as a species, doomed.

  6. Eerie Smile says:

Having never played or read M:tAs, and only dimly comprehending the Technocracy vs Traditions thing, I look forward to seeing what all the fuss is about!

Also interested to see if Wrath of the Gods is met with as much acclaim as Zombie Apocalypse.

  7. crawlkill says:

I LOVE TECHNOCRATS. fucking exterminating dangerous monster people in style! particularly the revised Technocracy books make it abundantly clear that the Traditions are the villains in Mage.

and yes, Mage spellcasting mechanics suuuck. all of oWoD was a mechanical shitshow, but Mage, jesus christ. that magic chapter is like 100 pages of shrugging and going “I couldn’t come up with anything, so fake it.”

  8. Sta-au says:

Ah Mage the Ascension. The only game more broken than this is Changeling where you can teleport people onto the moon. I still remember discussions about how you could transform a 7th gen vampire into a folding chair.
