If you do run this again, try adding a few mooks to the big boss fight. They soak up some damage, get in the way of the group’s heavy hitter, and give the supporting characters something to hit at. It’s a lot harder for a cleric to cast buffs if they have to deal with the gremlins in their face first.
Fun game guys! Now Fandible can say they’ve played DnD with a straight face (cause seriously, Pathfinder is the soap opera twin to DnD, the eye patch fools no one, it’s the same actor).
The Forever Man=Fez
One of the reason I hate d&d is the morality thing and Paladins. Seriously I once had a paladin player argue to changing my character to evil because I killed a rat an he’d done a deal with…
A rat man we’d found eating a baby!
Thanks for the shout out by the way guys! Glad you enjoy, and to hear my American, check the episode: dinner at the Daley-delmorte foundation, Jackson Elias Is supposed to be from the U.S. 🙂
Hmmm. I’m thinking Skype crossover gaming may need to happen!
Yeah, where do we stand in line to support a Fandible/CoTD crossover? Two concurrent campaigns/adventures that meet in the middle?
Hey guys I have to disagree with the “no shades of gray” in Pathfinder. I play and have played in a lot of PF games that live in the murky areas.
There is Good and Evil in the setting, but it is vastly outweighed by the gray.
What you had was a paladin and “burn the heretics” cleric problem. That doesn’t really allow the group to explore much, morality-wise.
However, I totally agree that this isn’t a Fandible system. Whoever suggested that has not been paying attention.
PF requires a fair amount of experience with it. Even then, that experience sometimes boils down to knowing where to quickly look something up.
(Also, running brand new 5th lvl characters is not quick and easy, even for non-novice PF players)
From the GMs side, they need to be especially familiar with the system (and preferably their players’ characters’ abilities). Something you build up over time, or at least starting at lvl1.
Also, if one or more people in the group HATES the fantasy genre, no system is likely to change their mind(s).
…aaaand if a player really hates magic, it’s not advisable to have them play a character with spells and spell-like abilities.
…Aaaaand…I enjoyed the return of the Identify Items guy.
