Most of you are probably aware of the infamous NaNoWriMoรย – where insane writers take it upon themselves to write a 50,000-word novel in 30 days. I can call them insane, because I count myself among them this year! But did you know there’s a similar event in November specially for game designers?
Say hello to NaGaDeMon! Create and play a brand new game in the month of November – a video game, board game, a tabletop RPG…heck, create a new spin on solitaire if that’s what you’re into! It’s a great parallel to NaNoWriMo for those looking for more interactivity than a novel allows.
And, I have it on good authority that a Fandible crew-member or two are going to be participating in NaGaDeMon this year. Maybe if you ask really nicely, they’ll give you some insight on their design process this month!
Fandible.Com is now on Patreon! If you enjoy our weekly blog posts and actual play podcasts, please consider supporting us.
I’m actually taking part in Nanowrimo already but I’ve never even heard of NaGaDeMon. Any chance you’ll post the the finished results of your efforts?
I will be making my game public for the fandible listeners ๐
Awesome! ๐ I’ll be looking forward too it! ๐
Sadly, the game is mostly done save for me wanting to remake the maps using a more creative method which is called Parallax Mapping. Unfortunately, I’m not able to get it to work. So until I can get it to work, there will be no game release.
God damn Parallax Mapping bullshit map making method looking so much better than RPG Maker Ace’s normal tile function.
Aww that sucks ๐ I managed to reach my target of 100,000+ words for Nanowrimo though ๐
Still going to work on it in your free time then or will you wait till next year?
