Happy New Year from Fandible!

We spent the last weekend of 2017 plotting how to make 2018 an even better year for Fandible. Some highlights:

  • We’re working behind the scenes on better organizational systems to keep blog posts and GTRTs happening regularly
  • Planning to wrap up at least one long-running game, and returning to another old favorite
  • At least one month of games all around a surprise theme (other than the usually October Month of Horror)
We also addressed Patreon’s controversial attempt late last year to change their fee structure in a way that was going to hurt people who back at the $1 level (which is 27% of our Patreon backers!). While Patreon has backed off the change for now, it was a reminder that diversity is key to any portfolio. So look out in the  next few months for PayPal and Ko-Fi backing options (plus Drip, if and when that becomes publicly available!).

So most of these plans are affecting Fandible a little further out in 2018, but there’s one development we’re excited to release now! Starting today, all of our Patrons will have access to a special Fandible Discord chat!

In case you haven’t heard of it, Discord is a chat application (available via app and web browser) designed for gamers. There are voice and video chat options, plus an always-on text chat. You can even roll dice in the chat! We’re excited for the new possibilities for fan interaction this could bring in 2018.

New and existing Patreons can check out our page now – there’s a special Patrons-only post that has the Discord link invite. Come join us on Discord and tell us what your New Year’s gaming resolutions are!
