Rotted Capes Survivor’s Guide is on Kickstarter!

I’m going to cut to the chase: Rotted Capes is having a Kickstarter.

And you might have heard about it but it’s important for me to announce to the world that Rotted Capes is having a Kickstarter! It’s for a new supplement that’ll finally deliver rules on magical-based heroes and more! More powers. More advantages. More skills! More everything!

I’m personally excited about this because I’ve always appreciated what Rotted Capes gives as a setting. Most of you know I am a huge fan of zombies, but what Rotted Capes does better than anyone is bringing out the survival horror in a spandex wearing world. And that is harder than it sounds.

Fandible tried having a zombie-superhero setting using a number of different systems. However, in the end, they all were way too powerful. Some gave you a ridiculous amount of powers. Others made you START as a top-tier human. Everything about those systems were designed around the idea you were a hero with unlimited resources and support.

Rotted Capes is different though.

In Rotted Capes, you have very little of everything. Supplies are low. Morale is low. Power level is low. It’s a gritty system that is suppose to make every attack dangerous. You never truly feel safe in Rotted Capes which is why I love it. It truly is designed to be a survival horror game.

If you want to support this system, please feel free to support their Kickstarter. For 25 dollars, you can get both the PDF version of the original game and the new guide. That’s a deal. It’s well worth the money.

Also! Full disclosure, I helped out with the video for the Kickstarter! No, I’m not part of the company whatsoever… I’m just a super fan. Check it out!

I know I’m going to support. Like you I wanted to see how they do magic as well.
Now if only I could get some players

Now my only question is if it’s worth springing for the 40$ pledge that gets you the two adventures as well as the core book…

  3. William Coffing says:

I can say I enjoyed both adventures. The forty dollar package is a good deal. The book alone generally costs 20 dollars.

And I have been considering trying a Roll20 Group or something with playing Rotted Capes. I dunno. Still up in the air but who knows.

Yeah I’m trying to get a oneshot with a possible future campaign started on roll20 but weird work hours limits the availability quite a bit
