This, this shit right here.
There is something exceptionally chilling about seeing a “game mechanic” truly affect the fiction. Seeing “Atlantian Power Word” described on the page is one thing, but to heard it “first person”, so to speak; is something else entirely.
I’ve been slowly introducing some of those Atlantean powers – Professor Strauss is now kinda-sorta powered by Atlantean technology thanks to Tenure, and Zap is still figuring out what the hell happened after touching that soul crystal (okay, Zap will probably never actually figure it out, but the players might!). Glad you enjoyed it, CallmeIshma3l!
Sounds really cool! It’s going to be interesting to see if Tenure is more Arc Reactor than Jarvise, and if Zap will have a better idea of how to interact with Atlantian Tech then the Professor will.
Also: is it just me, or do you have a higher non-horror/one shot game body count then the other GM’s? Cause that’s 2 down….
Is it possible that Hakim was always under the effects of the Atlantean Power Word? Because the team getting into action under the gentle, benevolent rule of Zapp behaves a lot like how Hakim will earnestly and full-heartedly try any horrible idea that the players put forward to him.
I don’t know Jake, my thought has been that he just reeeeeeeeeeeeaally needs this job. Think of how hard it must be with 8 to 12 mouths to feed!
I love this game. Everyone plays their character so well, and Angela does a great job of running with whatever wackiness they throw her way. Also, I get more laugh-out-loud moments listening to this than pretty much anything else I watch or listen to.
