Rogue Trader Ep 10: Turning Point part 2 of 2

After a fairly eventful trip through the warp, the crew initiates its plans to enter the facility thought to contain potential space marines.

What they find inside will show them the depths of Daniel Kunan’s depravity and makes the crew realize that the fight against Daniel Kunan may not have a happy ending.

Hmm. Perhaps Basha needs to get in touch with the Death Skulls clan… seems like they’d be the most likely to help him out after his pigment issues. 🙂

  2. Gabriel Sims says:

Hi All, Corpse Starch Rations are the cheapest form of crew rations and are made from the recycled dead. Given that it doesn’t make much sense to gain insanity from recycling the crew into foodstuffs as one could assume that it’s a standard practice in the Imperium.

  3. Thelastarchitect says:

Jesus could probably justify it with a hand wave of ‘uncommon in the sector’ and the fact that corpse starch rations are A. Implied to be heavily processed. B. Normally openly made of corpses, not secret fresh human meet passed off as garden variety protein. C. In warhammer 40k novels etc. that Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader tend to draw from rather than contradict, unlike many new codexes XD, corpse starch rations seem to be pretty universally reviled. My guess is from how rarely it comes up in the canon is that despite corpse starch rations existing their existence alone isn’t enough to remove the mental stigma of cannibalism. So it seems pretty reasonable that the conspirators might pick up a little insanity.

Also Jesus, you’ve caused me to end up running a Rogue Trader Campaign again! Curse you and your extremely impressive GMing! A campaign of Heretics and Xenos is now trundling along thanks to the inspiration of this two-parter! We’ve even got our own Ork! Lurtz Da Loota 😛 No relation to another ork with a similar middle name.

Also, I’m going to be the worst sort of nerd and point out that the guys in that picture aren’t space marines, they’re Adeptus Custodes. They guard the Emperor on Terra, and yes, though made differently, they’re even bigger and more dangerous than your ‘typical’ marines. I’ve restrained myself from pointing that out since last week. 😛

Great game as always and keep them coming! 😛

Rogue Trader is now once again my favorite Fandible series! 🙂

  4. Aurellion says:

Why does it feel like Daniel’s Congealed Happiness character needs to come in and yell “Nerds!” at all of us? 😉

  5. Thelastarchitect says:

Or Billy’s Part Time Gods character? 😛

  6. Daniel says:

… you guys have no idea how happy reading those last few comments makes me. *sniffle*

  7. foxbear says:

speaking of, is Part Time Gods still around? Sorry if i’m dredging up old stuff..

  8. Arvandus says:

We did play another session and it will definitely be posted at some point.

  9. Daniel says:

    … two words: Bear God.

  10. Thelastarchitect says:

I’m assuming the recent references to a Bear God have to do with that session then?

  11. Arvandus says:

The bear god was a bit of a running inside joke among the players for awhile. The part-time gods game was just it becoming manifest. The bear tribe in our Legends of Anglerre game was the same thing.

  12. Thelastarchitect says:

I was wondering about that. I remembered the Bearbarians or some such and Angela playing an illegitimate child of some Bear-shaman thing or some such but I couldn’t remember reference to a bear god.

Now I’m surprised no one played something like this when you all played Death Watch:

    😛

  13. Aurellion says:

    Bearbarians… IN SPACE.

  14. Fabian says:

Man, you guys can take even the most grimdark of settings and make it hilarious. How you guys manage to do it, I don’t even know!

  15. CaptainStabby says:

Just a thought, but if the Tech Priest picks up Ferric Lure, depending on how nice Jesus is feeling… he could totally pull off the Magneto grenade trick. Not that I’d encourage anything like that.
